How to find a tennis partner in Cyprus

You have a racket, the weather is perfect roughly 300 days a year, and courts are cheap. The missing piece is always the same: a partner who plays at your level, in your city, on your schedule. Here is every method that exists on the island, ranked from slowest to fastest.

5. Turn up at public courts and hope

The romantic option. It occasionally works in busy periods at municipal courts, but you cannot schedule serendipity, and when it does work the level mismatch is usually brutal. Fine as a bonus, useless as a plan.

4. Book a coach as a stand-in partner

Coaches and hitting sessions at academies are a legitimate way to play when you know nobody. The obvious limits: it costs real money every single session, and a feeding drill is not a match. Good for improving, expensive for socialising.

3. Hotel and resort courts (visitors)

If you are on holiday, your hotel may have courts and can sometimes pair guests up. Quality of the match is pure luck. Works better combined with method 1 below, arranged before you fly. More in our tennis holiday guide.

2. Clubs and group chats

The traditional backbone of Cypriot tennis. Join a club in Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca or Paphos, get added to the WhatsApp group, and matches eventually happen. The catches, and they are real:

Clubs are worth it long term. They are just a slow way to get your first ten matches.

1. The player directory (30 seconds, sorted by level)

Tennis Partner Cyprus exists precisely because methods 2 to 5 are slow. It is a free directory of players across the island. Every profile shows:

Filter, open a profile, tap the WhatsApp button, and you are talking to a player your level in under a minute. No committee, no waiting for an invite. Leaving the island for a while? Flip your profile offline and nobody bothers you.

Stop hunting, start hitting Create your player card once. Every player who joins after you can find you.
